This line is our best, most established line. Weak points in this line are rarely mycoplasma sensitivity. I aim to select rats who express the least amount of sensitivity to respiratory illness ,while still scoring well in other areas, to determine who carries on the line. Currently focused on building conformation while selecting for best health. Temperament is fairly stable in this line, although they are a lot more active rats than couch potatoes. The longest lived rat in this line was a Dwarf male named 'Spike' at 5 years old before he was humanely euthanized due to quality of life. We've had more than one dwarf reach 6 years of age. He is the founder of this line and had no health issues. Thanks to my good friend Amanda, for helping me resurrect this line's true potential during the health issues I incurred from past import integrations.
This line consists of rats marked with Black Eyed Whites, Masked Blazes, Berkshire, Variegated, Headspots, & Downunder Focused on structure.
Colors produced from this line are: Black, Beige, Russian Blue, American Mink & Siamese with a strong focus on Black and American Mink. Coat Types produced: Standard & Hairless Dumbo & Standard Ears are produced with Dwarf being the forefront of our selections.
I expect this line to be 100% ready for pet placement with guarantee after 3 complete generations of no health issues. Expected pet placement is 2022.
Whiteside & Silvermane Line
The Silvermane, dilute Chocolate, & recessive Whiteside gene we are working with in this line comes from a 2018 import from Enchanted Hills Rattery located in Kansas. The dominant Downunder gene this line carries stems from a line I've been working with since 2016 from Runamuk Rats. Our Downunder gene has been shared with breeders across the country as far as Colorado that I know of. Weak points in this line are mycoplasma sensitivity, occasional temperament flaws in males, longevity as well as conformation. Some babies born with the Downunder gene appear smaller than those without the gene, the goal is to produce healthly Downunder rats with no underweight in their babies. The strong point in this line is that the silvering holds up well over time. The founding dam, EHR Zora, was nearly 2 years old and was still completely silvered without rust or demarcations. Her son, Magic, recently passed in fall of 2020 just shy of 2 years due to unknown complications or possibly old age. I aim to select rats who express the least amount of sensitivity to respiratory illness, while still scoring well in other areas, to determine who carries on the line. Currently focused on building consistent temperament while selecting for best health for longevity and conformation. Focusing on conformation also increases the overall rat's longevity due to lack of structural issues.
This line consists of rats marked with Blazes, Berkshire, Hooded, Variegated & Whiteside with a focus on Downunder. Coat Types produced: Standard, Silvermane, & Hairless with a focus on Silvermane. Dumbo & Standard Ears are produced; Dumbo Ears being the focus.
I expect this line to be 100% ready for pet placement with guarantee after 3 complete generations of no health issues. Expected pet placement is 2022.
The Colorpoint Line
The Siamese Sable (Tonkinese) and marten gene we are working with in this line comes from Runamuk Rats in New York. The Black Eye gene comes from Mac Rattery in Virginia. Weak points in this line are mycoplasma sensitivity and occasional temperament flaws to include aggression (maternal and rat on rat) as well as conformation. The strong point in this line is that the points and color are nice and rats have good bone. I aim to select rats who express the least amount of sensitivity to respiratory illness, while still scoring well in other areas, to determine who carries on the line. Currently focused on building temperament while selecting for best health and conformation. This line is still fairly rough around the edges and rats will not be released as often to the public. The original velveteen gene that these rats produce I've been working with since I started breeding. Rats from this line are at least 5-7 generations in, I still don't consider them sellable to the public and will not be releasing them for breeding rights anytime soon.
The Marten gene we are working with was pulled from a Tonkinese-Marten male received from Runamuk Rats. There have been known instances of sudden death due to pneumonia and mycoplasma sensitivity. These rats will not be placed lightly. I will hopefully add Spotted Tabby to our Marten line to produce Black-Eye Marked Marble Martens. Spotted Tabby (Marble) could have the potential of developing Malocclusion (the teeth are not aligned properly and natural grinding cannot take place). Marble rats that will be bred will be bred later in life to ensure malocclusion isn't perpetuated in their offspring.
This line consists of rats mostly self Color-point rats. Colors produced from this line are: Tonkinese, Siamese, Marten, Black, Black Eye versions of listed colors.
